General advice: |
Stopping the dirt at
the door is a very good idea. This is not only for the sake of
cleanliness but it is also an economical reason. A wiping zone of
2-3 m is recommended.
|
|
| |
Cleaning:
|
We recommend
that the HØJER carpet is vacuumed with a so called motorized floor
nozzle. This means that the vacuum cleaner is equipped with a
rotating brush nozzle that enhances the possibility to collect and
vacuum-clean dirt and dust. Vacuum-cleaning should be carried out
once or twice per week or when needed.
|
|
| |
Stain removal: |
Primarily all
spillage should be removed in order to minimize the risk of
enlargement of the stain. Damage from burns are best treated by
punching out the spot with a hollow punch and then replacing it with
a new piece of carpet. When removing stains it is important that one
does not use chemicals unless it is really needed. |
|
|
|
| |
Consult the stain
removal instructions. |
| |
|
| |
Washing: |
As a last resource
to clean a wool carpet one can wash it. Primarily one should try
vacuum-cleaning with additional stain removal. When washing a carpet
we recommend that one uses the so called extraction method. Here it
is important to avoid overdosing of the cleaning agent, because this
may do more harm than good. The wool itself is oily and dirt
repellent and any residual agent may impair these properties. The
nozzle works parallel to the carpet and it should be loaded with
extra weight in order to enhance the vacuum-cleaning capacity. We
recommend that this cleaning is carried out by authorized carpet
cleaners.
Do not set foot on the carpet until it is completely dry!
One alternative to the above mentioned method is the so called dry
method that does not moisture the carpet. It should be carried out
according to the instructions from the supplier.
