BASTIAN® |

In order to create a possibility to find the acoustic qualities of
the DECIBEL mats in different environments and structures, we have chosen to use the calculation programme BASTIAN. In this programme a large number of floor structures may be combined with
different products in order to create a condition for calculating the acoustic results, i.e.
impact sound level and airborne sound muffling. |
| |
| |
We have entered a number of parameters for DECIBEL 1, 2 and 3
in the database combined with e.g. linoluem, floating and glued parquet, clinker, the SoundSeal structure etc.
By means of this programme the user may compare his current structure before and after
the steps taken with the DECIBEL mat and the projected flooring.
For those who do not have access to the programme we can offer the opportunity to have the
calculation carried out by us as a part of our service connected to the DECIBEL concept. |

As always when performing theoretical calculations it is important
to consider that reality does not always concord with theory. There may be circumstances that
make an on site measurement show a differentiated acoustic reading. In some cases the reason is
that there is something wrong with the structure and in other cases the reason is dependent on
factors that were not known at the time of the measurement. Therefore, it is best to allow for
a few extra decibels (2-3 dB) margin when interpreting the theoretical outcome.
Furthermore, it is not a bad idea to perform an on site measurement to assure that all parameters
and readings agree with reality. It is particularly important to perform this measurement at an
early stage when we speak about big projects. |
