Decibel1 is designed to be used in combination with Linoleum, vinyl
(solid), glued solid mosaic parquet (consult our
art Woodcollection) and it should also
be part of an acoustic construction designed for clinker and stone. Depending
on the combination and the design the strong points with Decibel1 are in
the areas concerning impact sound, airborne sound, drum sound and comfort. |

Acoustical Problems
The acoustical problems that
often are linked to hard flooring e.g. linoleum/ vinyl, clinker/stone and glued parquet are put
in relation to the requirements on impact sound level and drum sound. Many times it is very hard
to find a good solution to these problems.
The market offers vinyl and linoleum flooring with an acoustic back that reduces impact sound,
but often these qualities are not enough to reach
high standards.
A well known phenomenon is the good drum sound qualities of the glued
parquet flooring by comparison with the floating constructions. But at the same
time a very poor improvement of the impact sound is created when
the parquet
is bonded to the floor. Furthermore, we have the problems with clinker and
stone floors that suffer from impact sound problems combined with the fact
that it is common that the construction height is limited. Therefore, it may be
difficult to find a suitable solution.
